Sheffield Green Belt Hearings - Everything You Need to Know: Schedules, Agendas, & How to View

Thousands of objections were submitted to the Sheffield Local Plan which involves plans to develop on multiple green belt sites in Sheffield. Live hearings hosted by the Government Planning Inspectorate will take place over a series of weeks commencing Monday 29 September, 2025 in central Sheffield, concluding on 21st November.

Monday 29th September, 10am at Sheffield Town Hall - Opening hearing covering legal and procedural matters related to building on the proposed green belt sites in Sheffield. A full agenda for this hearing is available here.


Tuesday 30th September, 9.30am at Sheffield Town Hall - A continuation of day one including the selection process of green belt sites and brownfield alternatives. View agenda here.


Wednesday 1st October, 9.30am at Sheffield Town Hall - Focus on green belt sites in Grenoside and Ecclesfield - sites NES37, NES38, and NES39. View agenda here.


Thursday 2nd October, 9.30am at Sheffield Town Hall - Focus on green belt sites selected for housing and commercial development in Chapeltown and Ecclesfield - sites CH05, CH03, CH04 and NES36. View agenda here.

How to Watch The Sheffield Local Plan Hearings


Spaces have been allocated for contributers from various interested parties including local campaign groups (a list of speaking attendees is available on this link). You can attend to view in person or watch the hearings on Sheffield City Council's YouTube channel.
