Labour MP Clive Betts Joins The Fight to Save the Green Belt in S13
Labour MP Clive Betts has joined the S13 fight against the planned developments on green belt in this area of Sheffield. He wrote to Handsworth Residents with this letter inviting them all to attend a public meeting on June 13th at 6.30pm at Handsworth Social Club.
Clive is quoted in the Sheffield Star as saying "While we all recognise we need to be building more houses, this number is far too high for one area. I am working with a residents' campaign group to challenge this proposal at the public consultation. This is an opportunity to ensure your voices are heard when it comes to this unfair allocation of land being developed and the strain it will have on infrastructure and services".

Fight to Save The Green Belt in S13 and S35
S13 and S35 are hit disproportionately by the Sheffield Local Plan to build on green belt in Sheffield. Find out more about plans to build 1,666 new houses and multiple "employment units" on green belt in Grenoside, Chapeltown, and Wharncliffe Side in S35. And plans to build on 99% of the remaining green belt in S13. The best way to make a difference to these plans is to join local campaigns, attend green belt events, and, most importantly, make sure you respond to the Sheffield Local Plan following the guidance of your local campaign.
